My distinctive works are three-dimensional forms that have evolved from concepts referring to abstract painting and sculpture. The seductive visceral work I create is a fusion of colour, texture, form and shape, all designed to evoke a longing and a desire to engage with the artwork on a deeper, sensory level.
I am an Australian born Sydney based artist. My practice explores concepts of contemporary painting and sculpture with a focus on surface as the external skin that embodies the themes explored in my work which include material, process, embodiment and excess. The concepts of surface include its superficiality and visual depth, the haptic - optical and tactile qualities that are felt through a visual medium. I believe artists can manipulate the tactile connections related to body and exploit external material qualities to arouse sensation and perception in the viewer.
