 Still, moving.

.

Photographic print on cotton rag paper. 11 photographs, 14.8 cm x 10.5 cm each, 2025

‘Still, moving’ is offering a confession—shared, yet hidden. It explores the delicate tension between silence and speech, stillness and motion. An intimate moment of vulnerability is captured. The mouth in motion while speaking, where shapes and gestures convey communication without fully revealing the message.
Each photograph presents a paradox: still yet moving. A frozen moment, reflecting the dynamic process of expression, where the mouth becomes a visual riddle. The viewer is invited to interpret the gestures, recognizing both the presence of meaning and the mystery of what remains unsaid.
‘Still, moving’ challenges the boundaries between communication and silence, offering an ongoing exploration of the performative nature of speech and the hidden layers of human expression. The series invites reflection on the complexity of communication, where meaning is both present and elusive.
Paraskevy's art practice probes the intricacies of human experience, illuminating the subtleties of vulnerability and imperfection with a profound sensitivity. With a playful yet thoughtful approach, Paraskevy crafts pieces that feel like fragments of a larger narrative—curated moments that leave space for interpretation and reflection. Her practice not only encourages curiosity but also challenges audiences to engage with the beauty and flaws of life in ways that are both thought-provoking and deeply resonant. By embracing the complexities of human emotion, Paraskevy's work fosters a connection that lingers long after the initial encounter.
