Melinda Hunt has an experimental drawing practice that employs performative drawing as a means of simultaneously observing and recording responses to a location while walking. Her drawings are a kind of propriocentric seismograph, capturing not just what is seen, but what is felt, and the action of her body as she moves through space. Hunt has a BFA (2019) and an MFA (2021) from the National Art School. Her work is in the National Art School Collection and in private collections. She is a founder and director of DRAW Space in Newtown and a member of the Railway Street Studios Association in Petersham. Hunt is a sessional drawing lecturer at the National Art School where she teaches life drawing and experimental drawing. She lives and works on Gadigal lands.
