Courtney Gatt is an emerging artist residing on Darkinjung land, graduating with her BVA from The Sydney College of Arts. Specialising in Jewellery and Object, she practices in a sculptural sense that is commonly vigorous and studious in its making. She is constantly challenging herself and developing new approaches to her metalwork. Gatt’s portfolio frequently draws upon animalistic and mythical forms, juxtaposed with contemporary and industrial motifs. Recently, her practice has evolved beyond her traditional means into an embodied performance through mark-making and imaginative play, where the object and performer are actively contested.
