Part of my painting practice uses recycled housepaint, pouring it in drips to create a self-supporting fabric. Through a direct relationship with process and materials, these paintings highlight the gesture and agency of this seemingly inanimate substance. These works are about redefining agency to include the non-human.
Alongside a socially engaged practice, my abstract painting involves collaborating with paint. I was a co-founding director of INDEX. Artspace in St Peters, and Cementa Contemporary arts festival in Kandos. I am currently a member of Kandos School of Cultural Adaptation.
