Do Not Litter Do Not Touch
.
Stacked Hand made paper, cardboard box 13 x 39 x 29cm, 2017
Referencing the venue’s historical past and previous use as a factory, as well as considering paper as an artistic medium with a unique and unmatched quality, Sydney Art Exchange made paper on site during five days of their time at F49. The rawness and industrial nature of the space, with its concrete floor and unfinished architecture, set the scene for the group as they transformed the space.
On completion of their project, they curated an exhibition of their work and asked for audience participation to destroy it. This performance was documented as a video.

Founded in 2008, Sydney Art Exchange (‘SAE’) is an artist-run, non-for-profit organization, which questions and challenges the contemporaneity of art. The group has a focus on communicating and sharing their work and processes with the public.
The five founding members of SAE – Corinne Brittain, Eleanor Err, Kerry MacAulay, Anya Pesce and Elke Wohlfahrt – celebrate 16 years of artistic creativity and exhibition history together.
