Theatre mask I & II 2023 plaster, clay, paper mache, found & broken domestic objects, acrylic & aerosol paint 50 x 30 x 15cm
This series of works explores the human longing for connection and the masks we wear to achieve it. Some find it easy to connect, others put on masks either literally or metaphorically to shield their vulnerabilities.
The age-old habit of covering up examines how theatrical masks convey emotion and ideas to audiences, which can connect us on a deeper level.
