This work explores the path to wellbeing, as well as our shared fear of hidden disease and decay, through drawing. The images emerge from the mono-printed surface, combining the external with the internal. The pencil travels across the underlying images, meticulously scanning and scrutinizing every contour, seeking, and responding to hidden anomalies.
The phenomenological nature of these drawings evokes the shared experience of looking for signs of disease and decay within the body through medical imaging. The promise of Western medicine is juxtaposed alongside the journey to wellbeing or enlightenment, represented by the meditation on the lotus flower.
