Plying and crotchet build bonds to alter structure, hand and strength with a twist. The contorted traditional binding cross gesture of crotchet challenges the delicate and unkempt to reveal the uncontrollable, the unknown and freedom.

The resulting uncontrolled corrugation and affray is out of control.
I can’t separate material, technique and process during concept execution and reading.
Research, reflection and time to evolve and make works leads me to navigate a ‘pathway’. I aim to avoid the too personal and leave ‘space’ for viewers to engage opening unobvious connections through dialogue.
