Acclay is an Australian contemporary ceramicist who remoulds trauma through clay. Her practice is shaped by her earliest understandings of care and survival forged while navigating a landscape of childhood abuse, and the complexities of a maternal bond fractured by severe mental illness, addiction, and pain.
Acclay hand-builds abstract sculptures and functional forms that emerge from the possibilities held within tension, using clay as both ritual and a tactile site of transformation and healing.
