In flux: process & performance is a space of open rehearsal and conversations. Bringing together multidisciplinary performances In flux explores flow, the beauty of the sublime and the human condition through intersections between dance, music and drawing.

In flux delves deep into the profound moments that can arise through collaboration across cultural backgrounds and artistic mediums and between friends. Using music as a vehicle to connect and collaborate with artists from different disciplines has led to some of the most important musical moments for the improvisatory jazz band Delay 45.
Bringing jazz music into a gallery and project space, alongside contemporary dance improvisation and performative drawing; the collaborative processes the collective explores includes what it means to be in flow and to reach sublime landscapes through virtuosic performance. The residency time at Articulate Project Space will include the collective sketching and conceptualising of musical and choreographic ideas, the exchange of audio recorded material, field recordings and the development of movement patterns between the performers. The time in the space will include open rehearsals where artists and gallery attendees can observe the creative processes.
Delay 45 is a jazz and improvisation quartet led by trumpeter/composer Tom Avgenicos and features close collaborators Roshan Kumarage (piano), Dave Quinn (bass) and Ashley Stoneham (drums). Artists involved include Australian-Japanese artist-researcher and dance-maker Reina Takeuchi, Australian-Telugu artist Monisha Chippada and performance visual artist Raya Tolentino.
