donated wool, Yupo paper, colour pencils, fixings. Each crochet square 24omm x 240mm; each drawing A3. 2025
Audrey is Gary's mother. She crochets 24cm squares using donated wool. Given to others, the squares are made into blankets and throws for care settings such as hospitals and homes. Gary has always seen a connection between Audrey's squares and the history of abstract art. For ABORA 4, Audrey made new squares that Gary translated into gridded colour pencil drawings. The crochet squares and the drawings will be exhibited as an alternating column.
Audrey Warner gardens, reads, cooks, volunteers, knits and crochets. That is her practice. Gary Warner is an artist who frequently changes his mind. That is his practice.
