'yes, withstanding'
.
Mixed media, 35cm high, footprint variable, 2025
Four individual works differently achieved, come together as an installation in response to site to form the one work, 'yes, withstanding' [2025].
Gary Deirmendjian is a Sydney based artist whose practice encompasses sculpture, photography, video, installation and site-specific intervention.
Recognised as a sharp observer of the present, his work is often described as beguiling, thought-provoking and socially concerned. Further, it prefers to exist in direct friction with daily life, in and amongst the public.

He holds an MFA in Sculpture from the National Art School [2006], where he has been teaching since 2012.
