Larapinta 2023
.
100 x 84cm, synthetic polymer paint on Belgium linen
In 2021, between lockdowns I walked the Larapinta trail in the heart of Central Australia. It was after a period of heavy rainfall and the trail was a kaleidoscopic explosion of colours. My painting is a representation of the colours I saw while the repetitiveness in the work simulates the tedium and physicality of my 15 day walk
I live and work on Gadigal and Muru-Ora-Dial Land. My inquiry based practice consists of personal histories and universal issues framed by linguistics and semiotics. I completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Visual Arts) at Sydney College of the Arts, the University of Sydney in 2013 on an Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) scholarship.
