My responses to Together but otherwise a(part) considers 235 years of British colonisation and The Voice’s generous invitation to span that divide. I pay respect to the Traditional Custodians who have cared for Country for 65,000 years in the face of genocidal strategies of colonisation. This land was never ceded. My Irish ancestors survived Britain’s genocidal policies before being transported to the colony as political prisoners, famine orphans, and cheap labour for the Empire.
