Etch primer, Synthetic polymer and clear lacquer on aluminium panel, 300 x 400 x 3mm, 2026

Informed by the nature of reality, Leanne Rowett’s art practice explores themes of interconnectedness, perception, and equality. Working primarily in spray painting and traditional oil techniques, Leanne engages with contemporary abstract methods, alternating between industrial metal panels and traditional canvas and linen surfaces.

Through the interplay of biomorphic forms and geometric abstraction, Leanne examines underlying structures of existence, derived from mathematical archetype principles of unifying dualities. Formally, her approach involves juxtaposing hard-edge abstraction and soft-edge gradient techniques to produce moments of stillness and movement, light and dark, flatness and depth to achieve oppositional symmetry.

Leanne holds a Bachelor of Contemporary Art and currently lives and works in the Limestone Coast, South Australia.
