The definitions of Manipulate are blazoned across an image of pedestrians rushing through a street intersection. The intersection is a universal embodiment of skilful control and manipulation of our movements especially in traffic laden urban environments. The photograph used is from Walking in the City: Pedestrian Crossing, a video I made in 2015 that explores how we interact with the systems of control in the city. See: https://youtu.be/mOgF4VpJhhc
Molly walks in the urban, suburban, and rural landscapes using a variety of media to evoke the complex interactions intrinsic to walking. She is intrigued by the artistic, sensory, speculative, and critical potential walking brings to art. Molly is a co-founder of the Australian Walking Artists.
