R0CK B0D1ES – WORLD BUILDING

World Building marks Keorattana Luangrathrajasombat’s first solo exhibition and the first collective presentation of his ongoing R0CK B0D1ES series. World Building is the first collective journey of Keorattana’s R0CK B0D1ES—clumsy but endearing stone-like figures inhabiting surreal digital realms through animated looping cinematic vignettes and imprinted moments of stillness, exploring fragility, resilience, and human connection.

These digital characters have emerged over a series of works, evolving across individual pieces that now converge into a shared environment. Conceived to inhabit surreal spaces reflective of world themes, storytelling, and lived experience, the R0CK B0D1ES take their first journey together here—moving from digital genesis into vignettes of discovery, conflict, and connection.

Across animation, sound, projection, and print, the exhibition transforms the gallery into a cinematic environment. Figures stumble, gather, and endure, embodying the awkward yet persistent gestures of humanity. Their clumsy resilience and endearing presence invite audiences to see themselves reflected in these fragile bodies, which persist despite their unsteady forms.

Keorattana’s background as a designer, animator, storyteller, visualiser, and immersive XR artist shapes this world-building process. Drawing from cinematic language, photography, digital culture, and scenography, he creates works where composition and atmosphere fuse to form symbolic environments. For him, world-building is not only a technical act but a poetic one: transforming memory, culture, and fragility into environments where digital characters act as vessels for ritual, tension, and reflection.

The exhibition brings together earlier works such as Exist, Flora Perpetua, Meal Space, Book Ends, and Breathing Room, alongside new animated vignettes. Each work loops continuously, creating fragments of an imagined universe where time feels suspended. Some pieces are immersive through sound, while others unfold in silence, creating a rhythm of contrast between audio intensity and quiet observation. Together, they form a constellation of stories—abstract yet intimate, strange yet deeply human.

The installation is designed to encourage focus and reflection, creating a viewing atmosphere that draws audiences into a dialogue between projected images, screen-based works, and imprinted moments of stillness. The R0CK B0D1ES unfold in cinematic fragments, with the printed works acting as echoes of the moving images—holding the gesture of the digital in quiet material form.

Each of these works becomes a chapter in the first collective journey of the R0CK B0D1ES, offering a point of resonance that leaves space for interpretation. Together they form a shared encounter with fragile, looping worlds and still reflective moments—spaces that feel at once foreign and familiar, digital yet deeply human. In their debut, the R0CK B0D1ES stumble and persist as clumsy but endearing figures, embodying the resilience and tenderness of being human—reminding us that within fragility there is endurance, and within awkwardness, connection.
