"for the time being" is an exhibition of video art that addresses what is at the heart of video art, time. Each work unfolds in time and has time as its central subject. The artists variously address time as process, as an expression of contemporary life or as our unfolding relationship to land.

The Project proposition:
In the end, 'for the time being' isn’t about certainty, because it points to transience, this phrase also echoes the Buddhist teaching of impermanence: that nothing is fixed, that every moment arises and passes away. That everything in the universe is interdependent, appearing and disappearing in relation to changing circumstances.
In everyday speech, for the time being sounds foreboding. Buddhism, by contrast, invites us to hear the same truth differently: everything passes, so let go and be present now.

Sōtō Zen master Dōgen takes this even further with his concept of uji, often translated as “being-time.” In his essay Uji from the Shōbōgenzō, Dōgen insists that all beings are inseparable from time itself: to exist is to be time. Time does not flow independently of things; rather, each being is the unfolding of time. A person is not merely in time but is time.
