A spoonful of ether is an exhibition of new work by Mark Facchin. The continuation of an interest in the contemplative object, dematerialised drawing and ideas shaped by a post digital æsthetic.

This work uses photography as a means to further explore concepts of painting and drawing as reconstructions of what is given. Applying digital and post production techniques, formal visual elements are detached from their source as everyday objects then reassembled in search of poetic transformation.

Transient. Intangible. Likeness generated through association, after-the-fact of making. Marked by instability and seeking reinterpretation. A process philosophically and ideologically free to revel in difference and contradiction.

Opening | Sat Mar 7, 3-5pm
